2019 NFL Mock Draft: Post-free agency first wave three-round projection
By Randy Gurzi
Some big moves happened during the first wave of NFL free agency, which shakes things up in this three-round 2019 NFL Mock Draft
Things look much different now in the NFL than they did just one week ago. The new season officially kicked off on March 13, but the flurry of activity started well before that.
Before teams were able to even officially sign new players, All-Pro wideouts Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. had new homes. Brown landed with the Oakland Raiders, ending a couple of months worth of drama. As for OBJ, he was sent to the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster trade that nets the New York Giants two more picks in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Other names changed zip codes as running back Le’Veon Bell ended up joining the New York Jets. This came after he sat out the entire 2018 season following his second franchise tag from the Steelers.
Former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles found himself a new home as well during the first wave of free agency. With the Philadelphia Eagles deciding to roll with Carson Wentz, Foles headed south to take over the Jacksonville Jaguars offense.
A few defensive players were also moving around as safety Earl Thomas landed with the Baltimore Ravens, where he will replace Eric Weddle — who joined the Los Angeles Rams. Those safeties got paid, but not as much as Landon Collins who is now in the nation’s capital with the Washington Redskins.
With that first wave seemingly behind us, we can now pause for a minute and see how things could be different with this three-round 2019 NFL Mock Draft.
