6. New York Giants: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

While there are rumors that the New York Giants still want Eli Manning to be their starter, common sense says that shouldn’t be the case. Manning is nearing the end of the road and it’s become apparent he doesn’t scare defenses at all. That’s why the G-Men should run to the podium to turn their card in should Dwayne Haskins be on the board at No. 6.

For a while, it seemed like it would be hard to envision Haskins lasting this long, but the rise of Kyler Murray works out in the favor of the Giants. They land a guy who has a high ceiling and is ready to start according to Albert Breer of the MMQB.

"“What seems clear is that Haskins is about as ready for the NFL as a 14-start quarterback could be. And that, combined with the talent he brings, sets the ceiling pretty high.” — Breer, MMQB.com"

As Breer points out, Haskins did only start 14 games which is a concern, but not a major one. He proved during that span he can make all the throws and is a legitimate NFL caliber quarterback. The only question would be if Manning should stick around for one last season or if they hand the keys to Haskins from day one.

The smarter move would be to pass the torch, but teams still foolishly believe veterans are better (see Tyrod Taylor vs. Baker Mayfield in Cleveland during 2018 for proof).
