2. Add to the edge rushers

The Bears have an amazing defensive front, but they need to add some depth to that group to keep their stars fresh with a constant rotation of players. Aaron Lynch has been taking visits over the past week, and he will likely be lining up somewhere else next season based on his price tag and given the Bears’ current cap situation.

Between the draft or some street free agents, Chicago needs to add some pieces to this group.

Khalil Mack is arguably the best pure edge rusher in the NFL, and Leonard Floyd just needs to get more consistent on the other side to give them a great pair of bookends. However, the Bears don’t have any proven commodities behind these starting two. While those two are great, you need a quality rotation to keep those guys fresh late in the game.

This draft has a number of quality players on the second and third day of the proceedings that aren’t starting quality, but they can provide good snaps off the bench. That’s what the Bears need to maximize their title opportunities this season and in the near future. If they are able to add at least one depth edge rusher in free agency, Pace will have done a great job.
