The Dallas Cowboys have filled some of their holes in free agency, but likely need the 2019 NFL Draft to find an upgrade at defensive tackle

When the 2019 NFL free agency period kicked off, Dallas Cowboys fans quickly got frustrated with their team. They started out slow and saw one of their most beloved players, Cole Beasley, land with another franchise. On top of that, big-name targets that could have helped them out were going to other clubs without so much as a sniff from America’s Team.

The most disheartening example was Earl Thomas, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks. After more than a year of flirting with the idea of adding the Texas native, Thomas landed with the Baltimore Ravens with the Cowboys not even trying to land him.

Then, things slowly started to change. Dallas agreed to terms with wide receiver Randall Cobb, defensive tackle Christian Covington, defensive end Kerry Hyder, and safety George Iloka. All those moves filled some big needs but there’s still one spot that needs some attention — the three-technique defensive tackle.

With David Irving deciding football isn’t for him, the Cowboys need to find someone who can be a disruptive force like he was in 2017 — well, at least for the eight games he played. Not having a pick in the opening round makes it hard to find an impact player there, but it won’t be impossible.

Here are three prospects who can provide Dallas with a viable option at the position, and who have a shot of being available when Dallas is on the clock at No. 58.
