Prior to signing with the Atlanta Falcons back in 2009, placekicker Matt Bryant has spent time with the New York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But he spent 10 seasons with his most recent employer and came up big more often than not. A total of 17 NFL campaigns have resulted in the specialist ranking 15th in points scored (1,717) and 11th in field goals made (388) in league annals.

But the 43-year old pro was not quite himself in 2018. He missed three games this past year. And despite leading the Falcons in points scored, he was cut loose by the organization. And the veteran kicker, who missed two PATs this past season but hit on all but one of his 21 field goal attempts, remains on the open market.

In 2018, the Arizona Cardinals utilized three kickers in Phil Dawson, Zane Gonzalez and Matt McCrane. The former is an unsigned free agent while McCrane is no longer with the club. That means Gonzalez and Cole Murphy are the only kickers on the current roster.

This past season, Bryant scored a total of 93 points in 13 contests for the Falcons. Meanwhile, the Cardinals managed only 225 points as a team. Adding the longtime performer would be a big plus for an Arizona team that could use some stability at the position.
