There is growing speculation concerning the Arizona Cardinals and the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Here’s how Rounds 1-7 might play out.

After Kliff Kingsbury was named the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, many pundits are assuming that Kyler Murray is his choice to run his offense. However, Josh Rosen is currently on the roster and there are no rumblings from Arizona about trading him. Perhaps, the Cardinals are deploying a strategy to make the most of the first pick and reaping dividends from that investment.

As of now, Arizona has 10 picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. They have signed several free agents to help re-make their roster from 2018, a season to forget. Remember, rookie contracts are less expensive than free agents, especially the game changers. The gamble concerning the draft is whether that selection contributes to the success of the team.

Kingsbury was asked about the first pick by Steve Wyche of NFL Network, as reported by Grant Gordon of NFL.com:

"“We haven’t [decided what we’re going to do with the top pick]. We haven’t. We’re a long ways from that,” Kingsbury said."

Believe him or not, there must be a blueprint for their draft. Kingsbury knows which quarterback can efficiently run his offense. This is a seven round mock draft to guess how Arizona proceeds each round.

We get started with the Cardinals’ first-round pick, which also happens to be the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
