The defending NFC champions have made some interesting moves to date. So will the Los Angeles Rams continue to add a few pieces via free agency?

When you think about it, it wasn’t really a surprise that the Los Angeles Rams wound up in Super Bowl LIII. One year earlier, the club finished 11-5 and snapped a long playoff drought under young head coach Sean McVay. The team won the NFC West for the first time since 2003 and made their first postseason appearance since 2004.

But it was one-and-out for the inexperienced Rams as they were humbled that home by the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card Round.

The building blocks were there, though, and in 2018, the team was aggressive in free agency and also orchestrated several trades to obtain big names on both sides of the football. The results were an 8-0 start and an eventual 13-3 record. The club handled the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round of the playoffs and then rallied to defeat the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome in the NFC title game (albeit with a little help from the men in the striped shirts).

Still, it all came apart on Super Sunday as McVay seemed overmatched by the wisdom of Bill Belichick. Hence the second-highest scoring team in the league in 2018 became only the second team in Super Bowl history that failed to score a touchdown in the “Big Game.”

General manager Les Snead has seven draft choices at his disposal, including two in the third round but zero in the second. So could the Rams scoop up a few more veterans over the next few weeks?
