4. Oakland Raiders: Nick Bosa, EDGE, Ohio State

One theory about the Cardinals floating the idea of drafting Kyler Murray is tied to the Oakland Raiders. There’s a strong belief that Oakland head coach Jon Gruden is even higher on Murray than Kliff Kingsbury is. With that in mind, the theory is that the Cardinals are trying to get the Raiders — who own the No. 4, 24 and 27 pick in the draft to offer a big package to move up to the No. 1 overall spot.

In this mock, there are no trade projections (because who can really predict those things) so the Raiders and Cardinals stay put. On top of that, I believe the Cards interest is real and that the Raiders will give Derek Carr one more season with Gruden to see if they can make things work.

With the teams staying put, Oakland decides to use their first pick in this round on Nick Bosa, bringing the Ohio State product to the same state where his brother, Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers, plays.

As was mentioned earlier, Bosa was injured during the season and decided to start training for the draft rather than return to the field for the Buckeyes. That decision is understandable, but it allowed Josh Allen the chance to surpass Bosa. Still, going at No. 4 is no slap to the face, but he will have some big shoes to fill as he tries to replace Khalil Mack who Oakland traded away in 2018.
