6. New York Giants: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

This is a pick that should happen, but there’s also a lot up in the air as to whether or not it will. The New York Giants need to turn the page on Eli Manning as their starting quarterback, but for some reason, they just won’t do it. They had a chance to in 2018 with Sam Darnold on the board, but they elected to go with a running back in Saquon Barkley.

While Barkley is a phenomenal player, they’re not winning with Manning under center. Still, the front office says they’re 100 percent behind the veteran — and it feels like that’s real and not just lip service. Even so, they can’t pass up on Dwayne Haskins if he’s there at No. 6.

Having said that, there’s also a chance Haskins won’t be here at this point. With other quarterback-needy teams eyeing Haskins, there could very well be a move where one team leapfrogs the Giants to land the kid who is fresh off a season in which he threw for 4,831 yards with 50 touchdowns.

Haskins feels like the most refined passer in the draft. Kyler Murray may have the athleticism that turns heads, but Haskins has elite arm talent and is still growing considering he has just one season as a starter under his belt.
