During the middle of the season in 2018, the New Orleans Saints look to add another face to their wide receiving corps in the form of Dez Bryant. The one-time Dallas Cowboys’ standout had been cut loose by that organization after eight seasons. But just when it looked like he would make his debut for another team this past year, he suffered an Achilles’ injury in practice and was lost for the remainder of the season.

He remains an unrestricted free agent but at this date, has not drawn a lot of interest from any team.

The Saints’ wide receiving corps is spearheaded by Michael Thomas, who led the NFL in 2018 with 125 receptions, good for 1,405 yards and nine touchdowns. Tre’Quan Smith opened some eyes as a rookie this past year, finishing fourth on the club with 28 catches, but second behind only Thomas with five touchdown grabs. 12-year veteran Ted Ginn still has speed but missed considerable time this past year.

In 2018, quarterback Drew Brees threw 32 touchdown passes to 13 different players. The NFL’s all-time leader in aerial yardage and the Saints could add a veteran such as Brandon LaFell, who made the most of his opportunity with the Oakland Raiders this past season. He played in six games, made five starts, was targeted 16 times and caught 12 passes for 135 yards and two scores. The 6-3, 210-pound pro would give Brees a sizable target.
