Round 4, Pick 106: Darrell Henderson, RB, Memphis

The Raiders brought back Doug Martin to Oakland and just signed running back Isaiah Crowell, however this should not stop them from drafting a talented third option on day-three of the draft. That talented option comes in the form of Darrell Henderson from the University of Memphis.

There is a reason that Crowell is on his third team in three years and that Doug Martin could not stick around in Tampa Bay regardless of his talent. Neither of these running backs are locks to remain a Raider past the 2019 season, so Oakland needs to look at a bellcow option for the future. Why not get a guy who eclipsed 2,000 total yards in 2018 for the Tigers and is considered one of the best backs in the class?

Even wit the impending restricted free agency of Jalen Richard, he is more of a third down back anyway and should not effect the Raiders’ plan to potentially add a running back that can run between the tackles to protect their future at the position.

Henderson would give the Raiders an electric back that has the potential to rush for over 1,000 yards year in and year out; he would give them the ability to have a solid receiver out of the backfield as well if needed.
