Oakland Raiders: 7-Round 2019 mock draft with three weeks to go
By Cory Kinnan
Round 7, Pick 220: Anthony Johnson, WR, Buffalo
Who would have thought that we would be in a position to talk about the Raiders adding depth in the draft when, just a month ago, it looked like Oakland was on the verge of a complete rebuild. Here in the seventh round, they add a receiver to the fold in the form of Buffalo standout Anthony Johnson.
Johnson was considered a sleeper pick by many and expected to go early in day-three or potentially at the end of day-two. However, after his performance at the combine, chatter surrounding his name has chilled a bit.
He did not run the 40-yard dash, or any of the shuttles, but in the three athletic drills he did partake in, Johnson did not manage to post higher than the 20th percentile in any except the broad jump. He fell in the 16th and 17th percentile of all receivers at the combine in the vertical jump and 3-cone drill respectively.
After signing Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, the Raiders are sitting pretty at the wide receiver position, but adding another guy to the group here in the seventh round would give Carr another toy to throw to as well as give the two high powered receivers the ability to come off of the field if needed. The 6-2, 210-pound Johnson could be that guy for the Raiders by the time the last round of the draft hits at the end of the month.
