Without a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys will have to get creative. As they look to do so, they could target these 5 sleepers

This year, the Dallas Cowboys won’t have a pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft due to a trade they made seven games into the 2018 season. After mistakenly thinking they could go into the year without a No. 1 receiver, the front office admitted their error and gave up their top pick in this draft for Amari Cooper.

When the trade was made, Dallas was just 3-4 and it looked as though they gave up a premium pick for the former Oakland Raiders wideout. Then Cooper transformed the offense and they were 7-2 with him on the roster.

His effect on the team was felt far beyond his 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns. Having that go-to receiver opened things up for everyone else. Dak Prescott looked more comfortable, Ezekiel Elliott ran with fewer men in the box and the rest of the pass catchers had more room to operate.

In short, the Cowboys have already know what they will get for their first pick this season, which ended up being a late selection in the opening round. While it is good to know Cooper is working out for them, they do need to make sure to hit on some of their later picks this season to keep improving the team.

That’s always a goal for every team, but even more important when there is no top 32 selection. For the Cowboys, here are five players who could be late round sleepers that will help them make the most out of this 2019 NFL Draft.
