Jacksonville Jaguars: 7-Round 2019 mock draft in early April
By Larry Brake
Now that the Jacksonville Jaguars have found their franchise quarterback in Nick Foles, they can address other positions. Here’s a seven round mock draft.
Nick Foles is the starting Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback going forward. He fills the greatest need that the Jaguars had after collapsing in the 2018 season. Jacksonville will address other needs in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft.
Currently, the Jaguars have six running backs on their roster. It’s highly doubtful that they will take one in the upcoming draft. However, you never know when the injury bug will bite.
The wide receiver position seems to be replenished with the return of Marqise Lee. Jacksonville signed Chris Conley as an unrestricted free agent in March. Dede Westbrook and D.J. Chark round out the quality receiving targets for Foles.
Offensively, the Jaguars need a vertical, stretch-the-field tight end, someone able to run deep seam routes to open up underneath routes across the middle. Will Jacksonville take one with the seventh-overall pick?
You can expect the Jaguars to stockpile the trenches on both sides of the ball. Remember, whoever controls the line of scrimmage controls the game. There are 21 linemen on the Jaguars roster as of now.
Safety is a position that Jacksonville might fill early in the draft. Both Barry Church and Tashaun Gipson, starters in 2017-18, are gone. Ronnie Harrison replaced Church as the starter in mid-2018.
With those needs and the situation in mind, here’s a look at who the Jaguars might select in the 2019 NFL Draft.
