Dallas Cowboys: 7-Round 2019 mock draft just over two weeks out
By Randy Gurzi
Round 5, Pick 165: Devine Ozigbo, RB, Nebraska
Another player Dallas is set to meet with is Nebraska running back Devine Ozigbo — which is who they take with their fifth-round pick. A 222-pound running back, Ozigbo was a one-year starter for Nebraska and had 1,082 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior.
With the Boys, he would be there simply to spell Ezekiel Elliott who is fresh off his second NFL rushing title in just three seasons in the league. While Zeke is one of the more dominant runners in the game, finding someone to share the load and limit the hits he takes wouldn’t be the worst idea.
Round 7, Pick 241: Jon’Vea Johnson, WR, Toledo
Despite having Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, Randall Cobb, and Allen Hurns the Cowboys have had a lot of wideouts on their radar leading up to the draft. One such player is Jon’Vea Johnson from Toledo who ends up being their final pick in this mock draft.
Johnson has deep speed and averaged 20.9 yards per grab in his senior season which is one of the biggest reasons for the interest from Dallas. Their offense lacked explosion and adding players who can get deep could help them improve in this area.
