4. Running Back

Aaron Jones is easily the most dynamic running back the Packers have had since Ryan Grant. The potential for Jones to be a top five running back in the league is largely up to his health, though — after all, the best ability is availability. Jones has had three separate knee injuries in his first two seasons as a pro.

Behind Jones is Jamaal Williams, a reliable runner and pass protector who serves well as a backup. Williams isn’t all-world in any particular area, but he adds a nice change of pace when needed. Together, Jones and Williams form serviceable duo that any team would be lucky to have.

That being said, the other running backs on Green Bay’s roster aren’t promising. The depth currently on the 90-man roster includes Tra Carson, Kapri Bibbs, Lavon Coleman and Malcolm Johnson. Danny Vitale serves as a fullback. Among those, Bibbs and Vitale have the greatest chance of making the final roster in September.

With Jones being injury-prone and Williams placed firmly in the “serviceable” category, the Packers may want to consider drafting a running back in the mid-rounds. Potential options in the middle rounds include Devin Singletary, Justice Hill, Myles Gaskin, Jalin Moore, Dexter Williams, Mike Weber and Bryce Love.
