3. Cincinnati Bengals

After years of sticking by mediocrity, the Cincinnati Bengals have decided to take Elsa’s advice and let it go. At least Bengals fans hope that’s the case. Marvin Lewis is gone, which could see the end of Andy Dalton’s era at the helm of the offense.

Dalton has been serviceable, but for the contract they awarded him, his performance hasn’t been enough. This is a chance for the Bengals to start fresh by doing something bold. New head coach Zac Taylor has to establish himself with the Bengals as his own man.

Meanwhile, his offensive coordinator, Brian Callahan, spent his four seasons with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. During that tenure, Callahan coached under offensive coordinators Mike McCoy and Adam Gase. Nevertheless, they’ll need someone who they can mentor and develop into their franchise quarterback.

Once Kyler Murray is off the board, the next best quarterback is Dwayne Haskins. The Giants are sitting at No. 6 and are also in the market for a signal-caller. Meanwhile, the New York Jets are likely candidates to trade down.

Haskins is the ideal candidate to help usher in a new era in Cincinnati. A lateral timing offense ideally fits Haskins’ skill-set, so the Bengals should make it happen. Jumping up eight spots isn’t going to take as much as some may think. Maybe they can send A.J. Green to the Jets to sweeten the deal.
