Round 5, Pick 159: Michael Jordan, IOL, Ohio State

The Seahawks’ last pick in the 2019 NFL Draft falls in the fifth round as they do not have a sixth or seventh round pick on day-three. Even after re-signing D.J. Fluker this offseason, the Seahawks have not been able to lock down J.R. Sweezy, and even if they did extend both of their guards from 2018, neither are top-tier interior lineman that can be upgraded.

While the interior of the offensive line in Seattle is not a bleeding need this year, the Seahawks could benefit tremendously by adding versatile offensive lineman out of Ohio State, Michael Jordan. Throughout his college career with the Buckeyes, Jordan played all along the offensive line, but his natural position is at guard.

At the combine last month, Jordan measured in at nearly 6-6 and 312 pounds with 34-inch arms. He has the size to play all along the offensive line, some much-needed versatility for a team that uses six offensive lineman in some packages. He tested off of the charts in the vertical and broad jump, showing elite explosion, while displaying above average agility during his tests.

Jordan is a wild card and while he was expected to be a top offensive lineman a year ago, he has seen his draft stock slip a bit throughout the season. Regardless, the Seahawks have had success getting the most out of offensive lineman in 2018, and could look to mold Jordan into a starting caliber guard in the NFL.
