Con: Josh Rosen is Cheaper

There’s another quarterback who should absolutely be on the Washington Redskins’ radar: Josh Rosen. As mentioned earlier, the Arizona Cardinals have a new head coach in Kliff Kingsbury. The rumors are that he wants to build around someone else (likely Kyler Murray). If that’s the case, then Rosen is indeed on the trading block.

Rosen would be a superb fit into the Washington offense. Most importantly though, he’d be a lot cheaper than Dwayne Haskins. Even if the Redskins traded their first-round pick for Rosen, that would be a lot cheaper than trading up for Haskins. The crazy thing is, that’s most likely not what they’d have to give up.

There’s a strong chance they’d only have to give up a second- or third-rounder for Rosen. That would leave them with a lot more draft picks in the next two years to build around their shiny new franchise quarterback.

If Rosen is the answer, the rebuild could happen much quicker. I’m not saying he’s better than Haskins, but he’s definitely going to come at a much cheaper price. With all those extra draft picks you can fill all the holes I’ve mentioned before.

Suddenly, the Redskins could be a team with very few glaring weaknesses before the start of the season. That’s something that’s much less likely to happen if you’re trading away a ton of picks for one player.
