Everyone loves a good underdog. Here are five late-round sleepers the Green Bay Packers should consider in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Entering the 2019 offseason, the Green Bay Packers held a bevy of needs. Luckily, after signing four impactful free agents and holding 10 total draft picks in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft (including four picks in the top 75 selections), Green Bay holds the key to being one of the NFL’s biggest turnarounds next season.

Before the draft even started, general manager Brian Gutekunst took care of three of Green Bay’s biggest holes with just four signings. As you’ve probably heard by now, the Packers signed outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith, offensive lineman Billy Turner, outside linebacker Preston Smith and safety Adrian Amos.

Edge rusher and offensive line now fall firmly down the list of priorities entering the draft. That being said, safety still remains a big necessity. We recently ranked the Packers’ biggest needs before the draft, with safety and tight end being the largest priorities.

Luckily for the Packers, the 2019 draft class is stacked with talent at both positions. Players who would normally go in the early rounds will surely be available later than usual due to the amount of depth at each position.

Of course, the headliners at tight end include Iowa’s T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant, along with Alabama’s Irv Smith Jr. With Jimmy Graham having a disappointing 2018 campaign and the overall lack of depth at the position on Green Bay’s roster, the Packers may want to take a tight end early. If not, don’t be surprised to see them gamble on a late-round sleeper.

As for safety, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Darnell Savage, Amani Hooker, Taylor Rapp, Nasir Adderley, Johnathan Abram, Juan Thornhill and Deionte Thompson are all early-round options for the Packers. Plenty of others will be available in the later rounds.

With that out of the way, here are five late-round sleepers the Green Bay Packers should be interested in.
