The Chiefs know that they need to focus on defense in this upcoming draft. They already started trying to fix that unit with the addition of Emmanuel Ogbah, Damien Wilson and Alex Okafor in free agency. As it stands now, Okafor is set to be the starting defensive end opposite Chris Jones — who is one of the best defensive linemen in the game.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Okafor’s addition is an upgrade for the Chiefs but they could look to add even more talent there with someone such as Zach Allen from Boston College. Listed at 6-5 and 285 pounds, Allen is built perfectly for the three-man line Kansas City employs.

Known as an all-around defensive talent, Allen shines as a run stuffer and even recorded 100 tackles in his junior campaign. That season he was overshadowed by teammate Harold Landry, who ended up becoming a second-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2018. While Landry was getting the accolades for his sacks, Allen was arguably the better overall player.

He continued that upward trend in 2018 as he put together another solid season for the Golden Eagles. Defensive end may not feel like the top priority, but a player like Allen would offer a great return on investment as a late first-round pick.
