The Tennessee Titans appear on the cusp of breaking out if they get the right pieces in place, and the 2019 NFL Draft can help with that in a big way.

Coming off of a 9-7 season that saw the Tennessee Titans finish third in a strong AFC South, there is still reason for optimism regarding Mike Vrabel’s group looking to the 2019 season. There are pieces throughout the roster on both sides of the ball that give this team the look of a group that could be on the precipice of breaking out, and a strong 2019 NFL Draft would help the cause massively.

What they may depend on is the play of quarterback Marcus Mariota. The No. 2 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Titans signal-caller has no doubt shown signs of definitively being their franchise quarterback, but has not yet put together a full season of work that would inspire full confidence. In fact, his long-term viability is hotly debated by many who follow the league.

The verdict on Mariota will certainly be given soon on the field, but for now, it’s without question that the Oregon product is the guy for the Titans at the present moment. With that, they must continue to put him in the best position to succeed by adding necessary pieces on both sides of the ball.

Titans general manager Jon Robinson has been savvy through the NFL Draft to this point, and has made some crucial free agency signings over the past couple of years to improve this team. For Tennessee to take the next step, though, they need Robinson to nail the 2019 draft and really round out some lacking areas of the roster.

After moving up from the seventh to the sixth round in the Ryan Tannehill trade (for a 2020 fourth-rounder), the Titans have a pick in each of the first six rounds. The following mock draft will try to use those wisely to help them compete in the AFC South.
