Tennessee Titans: 7-Round 2019 NFL mock draft two weeks out
Round 2, Pick 51: Christian Miller, EDGE, Alabama
With Derrick Morgan and Brian Orakpo gone, the Tennessee Titans are left in a position where they are thankful they traded up for Harold Landry in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. However, Landry alone isn’t enough, and they need more depth at the position, even after signing veteran Cameron Wake. Christian Miller then presents an intriguing proposition.
Injuries and a lack of production early marred Miller’s career at Alabama, but he put enough on tape to be highly intrigued. The former Crimson Tide 5-star recruit has great versatility on the edge and could contribute rushing the passer right away. With Wake to spell him in a rotation, this could be a steal for Tennessee in Round 2, and one they needed to find.
Round 3, Pick 82: Terry McLaurin, WR, Ohio State
Adding Adam Humphries in free agency is a big get for Marcus Mariota and this Titans offense. He gives them a consistently reliable and dangerous slot receiver to pair with Corey Davis on the outside. But while Tajae Sharp and Taywan Taylor have shown flashes, Tennessee still needs to look to add to this receiving corps moving forward, giving a full complement of weapons to work with. Terry McLaurin could fit that bill.
At Ohio State, McLaurin showcased his deep threat and big play ability, and he has the speed and ability to be that in the NFL. No one should mistake the former Buckeye for being a potential No. 1 receiver at the pro level, but he has the skill-set to be a perfect piece to put opposite of Davis in three wideout sets.
