Jacksonville Jaguars: 7-Round 2019 NFL mock draft with monster trades
By Larry Brake
Round 7: Ryan Pulley, CB, Arkansas
Jacksonville closes out the 2019 NFL Draft by selecting a cornerback. They choose Ryan Pulley of Arkansas. He will have a better chance of making special teams instead of being the slot corner.
Cornerback is a deep position for the Jaguars. They have one of the best duos of the NFL in Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye. D.J. Hayden will be tough to unseat at the slot corner position. Pulley might find his way to game day via special teams. He has the size and speed to be an impact player. He had a good performance at the NFL Combine.
He bench pressed 225 pounds 11 times and his 40 yard dash time was 4.61 seconds. He measured in at 5-11, weighing 209 pounds. At Arkansas, he had 93 total tackles with six interceptions. He declared for the draft after his redshirt junior season. He played in 30 games at Arkansas.
Honestly, seventh round draft picks have a difficult time making the final 53 man rosters. Sometimes an undrafted player comes into camp and takes their spot on the practice squad. Pulley will have to work hard and make a name for himself on the special teams.
As the Jaguars build towards returning to the playoffs, it starts with one player at a time. The players taken in this mock draft could help the team return sooner rather than later.
