Frank Reich’s team overcame a rough start in 2018 but rebounded to make the playoffs. What are the next steps for the surging Indianapolis Colts?

A little over a year ago, the Indianapolis Colts were coming off a 4-12 season and in the midst of a head coaching change. Make that a plural changes as New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels had a change of heart after it looked like he had a deal with Jim Irsay’s club.

Enter Frank Reich, who was coming off a Super Bowl championship as the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles. He inherited a team that, in 2017, played the entire year without starting quarterback Andrew Luck. And during the upcoming months leading up to the 2018 campaign, there was still a little mystery involved regarding the status of the talented signal-caller.

With Luck ultimately returning at the helm, the team dropped five of its first six games. Slowly but surely, though, he regained his touch and arm strength. And as time wore on, the team began to gel on both the offensive and defensive lines.

The result was nine wins in the final 10 games and a playoff berth for the first time since 2014. The Colts went into Houston in the wild card round at knocked off the AFC South champion Texans before falling at Arrowhead Stadium in the divisional round to the Kansas City Chiefs.

If you have been watching the Colts during free agency, they have been fairly quiet. General manager Chris Ballard has signed wide receiver Devin Funchess (Carolina Panthers) and pass-rushing standout Justin Houston (Chiefs). And by all indications, the Colts will add more talent via the draft rather than free agency.

But if the club was to add three more veterans, could any of the following be economical options?
