Pittsburgh Steelers: 7-Round 2019 NFL mock draft focuses on secondary

The Pittsburgh Steelers try and put a noisy offseason in the rear-view mirror and improve their roster in this 7-Round 2019 NFL Mock Draft
The past two offseasons — and the campaign sandwiched between them — have been rather interesting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The drama started when running back Le’Veon Bell was hit with the franchise tag for the second season in a row, and he was less than thrilled with this development.
Choosing to sit out the entire season, Bell was replaced by James Conner who ended up with 973 yards rushing and 497 receiving. He added 13 total touchdowns as well, which limited the impact of losing Bell.
However, they still missed the postseason but that had nothing to do with their ground game. Instead, Pittsburgh operated like a team with no discipline or self-control. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spent the whole season criticizing everyone in the organization publicly.
He ripped the front office for drafting a quarterback two seasons in a row — conveniently forgetting that he had been openly talking about retirement before they started doing so. He then took to the media later in the season to rip receiver James Washington and when called on it, he basically said he’s allowed to say whatever he wants because of who he is.
From there, drama between Big Ben and wide receiver Antonio Brown started to come to the forefront. This ended with AB being sent to the Oakland Raiders — and was followed by him taking shots at JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Now with Bell and Brown gone, the Steelers look to rebuild their roster and aim to stay atop the AFC North with this seven-round 2019 NFL Mock Draft.
