Pittsburgh Steelers: 7-Round 2019 NFL mock draft focuses on secondary
By Randy Gurzi
Round 6, Pick 192: Michael Dogbe, DT, Temple
With their second pick in Round 6, Pittsburgh adds some help to their defensive line with Temple’s Michael Dogbe. As a fifth-year senior, Dogbe put together his best campaign as he registered 72 tackles and had seven sacks. He’s not guaranteed anything in Pittsburgh, but could fight his way into the rotation on their three-man line.
Round 6, Pick 207 (via Cardinals): Alex Bars, OG, Notre Dame
A former team captain at Notre Dame, Alex Bars is coming off knee surgery which shortened his final campaign with the Irish. He played both guard and tackle in college, but projects mainly as an interior blocker in the NFL. The biggest question mark for him centers around his knee injury. If it checks out, he’s worth a shot this late.
Round 7, Pick 219: Ken Webster, CB, Ole Miss
With their final pick in this mock draft, the Steelers again add a cornerback — just like they did to kick things off. Also like their first-round selection of Greedy Williams, they look to the SEC here as they choose Mississippi’s Ken Webster.
Webster started out much stronger at Ole Miss than what he showed later. His inability to develop hurts his stock but he has enough ability — especially in run support — to be drafted. And Pittsburgh needs enough corner help to kick the tires on a player who has shown flashes of being a real player.
