The Green Bay Packers have a ton of picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, and they could swing for the fences. They could also hit for singles to get on base like this.

The Green Bay Packers are one of the teams in the NFL that are notorious for making NFL Draft picks that are going to be solid players for years to come. It’s one of the reasons they were one of the best teams in the NFL for the last 15 years.

Over the last few years, they have been a little too greedy, trying to draft for needs even if they weren’t the best players on the board. Guys like Damarious Randall and Josh Jones had some flash, but they didn’t have a ton of substance.

What’s nice about drafting a super athlete with a recognizable name? It’s going to generate fan interest, and it’s going to make people talking about the team. Sexy picks can do that, but the Packers don’t have to make them.

The Indianapolis Colts showed last year that making that unsexy pick can be a home run that makes your team better instantly. The 2019 NFL Draft has a number of guys like that which would be great fits for Green Bay.

Thus, we’re talking about picks that aren’t sexy, but they make a ton of sense for Green Bay. Maybe it’s that second-round tight end that isn’t the flashy splash player, but he knows how to do all the little things right. What about that lineman that isn’t the top guy on the board, but he’ll start for the next decade as long as he stays healthy?

Those are the guys that Green Bay needs to build around the studs they have in place now.
