Miami Dolphins: 7-Round 2019 NFL mock draft with one week to go
A successful start to the Miami Dolphins rebuild takes place in this seven-round 2019 NFL mock draft.
The rebuild is officially here for the Miami Dolphins. Instead of continuing to waste away in mediocrity, the Dolphins finally appear to be ready to tear down their roster in order to completely rebuild through the draft. A full rebuild is much needed in Miami and it is going to be an interesting process to watch unfold.
The Dolphins are reportedly looking ahead to the 2020 NFL Draft when it comes to the quarterback position. With the lack of premium quarterback prospects in the 2019 draft, this is a plan that makes sense. It also makes sense if you take into account their current roster.
As the roster stands now, the Dolphins simply are not in a position to support a rookie quarterback. Due to their lack of talent across the roster, any first-year signal caller would likely come into Miami and struggle, perhaps stunting their long-term development.
Instead of locking down their franchise quarterback in the 2019 draft, the Dolphins should be looking to add talented and dependable players who can help create a strong base and culture. If they can start to accomplish this through the 2019 NFL Draft, they will have a solid structure to build around and a good situation for a young quarterback. Until then, taking a quarterback would likely just be wasting a pick.
In this mock draft, we are going all seven rounds with a specific focus on the Miami Dolphins. Find out which prospects they should target in the upcoming draft to jumpstart their rebuild.
