The Washington Redskins aren’t sitting pretty inside the top 10 of the 2019 draft, unlike some teams on this list. Still, it doesn’t mean they can’t and shouldn’t trade down. The Redskins should collect as many draft picks as possible. They are a team with plenty of holes to fill.

For starters, one their most pressing needs is at wide receiver and this draft is loaded at the position. Of course, they can take a receiver at No. 15 but they can also get one later in the first or in the second round.

Another need that doesn’t require them keeping the 15th pick is on the interior offensive line. While the draft depth isn’t amazing, acquiring some extra picks allows them to add quality backups. Moreover, guys are bound to fall since interior offensive line isn’t a premium position. What they missed last season was the type of combo lineman to help fill once guys started going down.

Also, they could use some help in the secondary. Both the corner and safety classes have players that can and should hear their name called late in the first round. The same goes for the tight end position where the Redskins would benefit from trading down. In the third or fourth rounds, they could benefit from players like Jace Sternberger or a Kahale Warring.

Sitting at No. 15 doesn’t always bode well for a trade down scenario. But there could be some teams looking at a top-10 prospect that slipped through the cracks. If so, trading down becomes possible and they should do it.
