Original Pick: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech Hokies

The Chicago Bears would stick with their original selection with the No. 14 pick in the draft by taking Kyle Fuller. While Fuller was a bit of a late bloomer, he has come on strong over the past few years of his career. He now looks like a top-tier cornerback in the NFL, having just come off his best season in the NFL in 2018.

Fuller has been named to one Pro Bowl and named an All-Pro for the first time last year for a Bears defense that stood among the top in the league in 2018.

A huge part of Chicago’s success on the defensive side of the ball, Fuller tallied seven interceptions and 21 passes defended from his island, going up against receivers in Chicago’s division such as Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and Marvin Jones.

For his career, Fuller has recorded 15 interceptions and has knocked down an astounding 62 passes, including 43 over the past two years. Last year Fuller got paid, receiving a massive four-year and $56 million extension heading into the last year of his deal.

His performance in 2018 makes him look a bit underpaid on that contract now. In a rather weak cornerback class, Fuller remains the first one to come off the board here with the No. 14 overall pick in the re-draft.
