Original Pick: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M Aggies

If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could go back, there would be little to no regret with their pick. Here in this re-draft, they stick with their original pick and make Mike Evans the No. 7 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. With Odell Beckham Jr. off of the board, Evans is easily the next best receiver in this class. The Buccaneers would successfully fill the need at the position.

During his time in Tampa Bay, Evans has been named to two Pro Bowls in 2016 and 2018. He has hit the 1,000-yard mark in every season of his five-year career. In addition, Evans has scored double-digit touchdowns in two seasons, and nearly hit 100 catches in 2016.

For his career, Evans has tallied over 6,100 receiving yards and 40 touchdown grabs on 395 catches for the Buccaneers. He looks to make it a sixth straight season of over 1,000 yards receiving with the 2019 Buccaneers, now led by head coach Bruce Arians.

Due to his stellar play as the Buccaneers’ red zone and deep threat, Evans signed an extension prior to the 2018 season for five years worth $82.5 million, with $55 million guaranteed. The Buccaneers now have the services of Evans locked down until 2024.

If they could go back to 2014, general manager Jason Licht would have no problem using another top-10 pick on the physical wide receiver coming out of Texas A&M.
