1. Arizona Cardinals

Selecting the Arizona Cardinals for this list was perhaps the easiest inclusion of the five. They sit atop of the 2019 NFL Draft and there is a good chance that they’ll do something unprecedented. Unless something drastic happens before the draft, all reports indicate the Cardinals will select quarterback Kyler Murray. Josh Rosen hasn’t been traded yet, but everyone suspects that will happen on draft day.

With so many quarterback-needy teams, the Cardinals will likely end up with a Day 2 pick in exchange for Rosen. However, if they’re lucky, Arizona could get a first-rounder for Rosen. That being said, the desperation is oozing off Cardinals general manager Steve Keim, so teams may call their bluff. They’ll force the Cardinals’ hand by playing chicken with Rosen’s trade value.

Either way, the Cardinals will come away with a dynamic quarterback, a player they’ll build their franchise around and who is expected to start right away. They’ll likely get him some protection along the offensive line. Additionally, they’ll add some more help at receiver. Drafting Murray and obtaining additional picks for Rosen puts the Cardinals in a solid position.

Getting a franchise quarterback is nothing to sneeze at. One can argue that the position the Cardinals are in is a double-edged sword. The expectations for success will skyrocket as pressure mounts for Kingsbury’s rookie season, but that means they’ve gained a lot of ground on paper.
