13. Miami Dolphins: Brian Burns, EDGE, Florida State

At No. 13, the Miami Dolphins are on the clock and they have a lot of needs. They’re entering the season with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center as the starting quarterback, which could have mixed results. He’s had his moments where he looks special, but then he starts throwing the ball to the wrong team at an alarming rate (but in his defense, he’s played for just about every team so maybe he just forgets).

There’s a chance they can try and move up for a quarterback, but they would have to really fall in love with one of the prospects and if that’s the case, they’re doing a good job keeping that under wraps. Here, we assume that means they will go a different route as they select Brian Burns from Florida State.

Burns was another player who did himself quite the favor in the Scouting Combine. He showed up with an extra 15-pound of bulk which silenced a lot of worry in regards to his ability to play on a four-man line. He also proved that his burst and overall speed was not affected negatively by the extra muscle.

For Miami, he comes over and tries to fill the void left by Robert Quinn. Their starting right end was traded to the Dallas Cowboys this offseason, which saved them money but does create this need.
