23. Houston Texans: Garrett Bradbury, OC, North Carolina State

There’s no denying that the biggest weakness for the Houston Texans last season was their offensive line. Deshaun Watson provides them their first real franchise quarterback but he spent way too much time uncomfortable in the pocket for Houston. He led them to an 11-5 record but was sacked 62 times in doing so.

Going forward, that can’t keep happening. The Texans already saw what life was like without Watson when he tore his ACL during his rookie campaign after just seven games. While injuries such as that aren’t 100 percent preventable, Houston can at least limit the hits he takes by fixing their O-line issues.

They take a step to do that here by picking up North Carolina State center Garrett Bradbury. They do have Nick Martin in this role currently but it’s hard to say that Bradbury isn’t an upgrade — plus Martin could slide over and play guard if he proves to be a better player than whoever they have penciled in there.

Bradbury is a former tight end who played guard and center during his time with the Wolfpack and is able to play against both the run and pass. His athleticism could also come in to play when they run screens and pitch plays as he has no problem getting to the second level.
