Round 6, Pick 175: Ugo Amadi, S, Oregon

With their sixth-round pick, the Steelers add another player who has the skillset to potentially develop into a starter down the road in Ugo Amadi. A team captain at Oregon, Amadi excels in zone coverage and had seven interceptions in the past two seasons for the Ducks.

More from NFL Draft

His height (5-9) and weight (199 pounds) aren’t ideal which will give plenty of teams reason to pause but as long as he’s not asked to play in the box it won’t be a detriment for him.

He also offers value in the return game and should be a special teams ace as he learns to play at the next level. Overall, there’s a lot to like and the Steelers could get a lot of value here as long as they’re willing to work with his shortcomings.

Round 6, Pick 192: Tommy Sweeney, TE, Boston College

Jesse James left in the offseason to join the Detroit Lions. Here, the Steelers replace him as Tommy Sweeney comes in to play behind Vance McDonald. Sweeney showed flashes for BC and had 99 career receptions for 1,281 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He needs to add more bulk in order to help in the run game but the Steelers love to throw the ball and he has the ability to help in that regard early on in his career.
