Jacksonville Jaguars: Final 7-round 2019 NFL mock draft keeps it safe
By Larry Brake
Round 7: Lil’Jordan Humphrey, WR, Texas
Lil’Jordan Humphrey is the last pick for the Jaguars. Humphrey played his college football at Texas. He has a big physical presence as a wide receiver. Humphrey stands 6-4, weighing 210 pounds. He caught 125 passes for 1,622 yards with 10 touchdowns. Most of all, he averaged 13 yards per catch at Texas. He moves the chains for first downs.
At the NFL Combine, Humphrey ran a 4.75-second 40-yard dash. He bench pressed 225 pounds 13 times. Humphrey had a 33.5 vertical jump. He would be a handful to cover man to man.
Humphrey gives the Jaguars another big receiver, especially in goal-line situations. If he bulks up, he could potentially move to play tight end. Foles would have two young big targets at tight end with him and Warring.
In fact, Humphrey would have a better chance of making the final roster as a tight end instead of a wide receiver. Jacksonville has plenty of speed and size in their wideout corps. Humphrey might find himself on the practice squad as he develops into the tight end role.
The Jaguars will have a talented group of receivers for the near future. Injuries can decimate roster depth at any given time. Remember the injury bug hit first in 2017 with the wide receivers.
