Indianapolis Colts: Peyton Manning, Johnny Unitas, Marvin Harrison, Robert Mathis

Easily, the most recognizable Indianapolis Colts player of all-time is Peyton Manning. He finished his career No. 1 in passing yards and touchdowns and did most of the damage while wearing a Colts uniform. Since his retirement, Drew Brees has passed him in yardage and Manning reminded us all how much of a treasure he is by making a hilarious video congratulating Brees.

Manning was always just as great off the field as he was on it. He was the most marketable person in the NFL during his career. Manning also just missed making the Denver Broncos’ Mount Rushmore, which would have been impressive considering he was with Denver at the end of his career.

Two of his teammates during his heyday also make the list in Marvin Harrison and Robert Mathis. Harrison played with the Colts from 1996 through 2008 and owns just about every receiving record in the franchise’s history.

Mathis joins him and could be a bit of a controversial pick considering Dwight Freeney had a bigger name. However, Mathis played in Indianapolis longer than Freeney and is above him in sacks in a Colts uniform.

There’s also Johnny Unitas who was part of the franchise’s Super Bowl V win over the Dallas Cowboys, although he was knocked out of that one with a concussion. Unitas also won three NFL Championships and was a 10-time Pro Bowl selection who played for the Baltimore Colts for 17 seasons and won 117 games for them.
