2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kinnan’s final first-round projection
By Cory Kinnan
Do not count out Washington offensive tackle Kaleb McGary going in the first round. And here, he comes off of the board to the Seattle Seahawks. In desperate need of protecting franchise quarterback Russell Wilson, the 6-7 and 317-pound tackle will be expected to come in and start from day-one.
McGary needs to go to a place where he can start day-one as well, considering his is already 24 years old. However, in a situation like Seattle, he could still play 10 quality years in the league and still retire at just the age of 34. Washington State tackle Andre Dillard and McGary may have to square off for the right to be called the most athletic tackle in the class as McGary tested off the charts in Indianapolis at the combine.
At the mammoth size McGary is, he still tested in the 80th percentile or above in the 20-yard shuttle (80th percentile), the broad jump (89th percentile), the vertical jump (95th percentile) and the 40-yard dash (89th percentile).
Even at the age of 24, one team will look to draft McGary as a day-one starter based on his athletic prowess alone. That team is the Seahawks here with the 21st pick in the draft.
