2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kinnan’s final first-round projection
By Cory Kinnan
With the 23rd pick in the draft, the Houston Texans make a much-needed move to improve their offensive line, taking North Carolina State interior lineman Garrett Bradbury. Bradbury is a first round talent, is the best interior offensive lineman in the class and is graded as my 12th best player in the entire 2019 draft class.
If the Texans want to keep franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson around for awhile, then they must address his protection immediately and stop putting it off. Coming off of an ACL injury, Watson was sacked the most times of any quarterback in the league; if this continues, it is a recipe for disaster in Houston.
There is not a single player on the Texans offensive line who is safe from being replaced, and along the interior they are set to field Senio Kelemete, Zach Fulton and Nick Martin in 2019. Bradbury is a player who can come in day-one, play right away and make significant contributions at either guard or center.
The most athletic interior offensive lineman in the class, Bradbury shows a quick burst and the ability to reach the second level with relative ease. Not to mention, defenders do not want to be on the other end of a pulling Bradbury, as he looks to bury opponents any chance he gets. The Texans need this athleticism, toughness and grit along their offensive line and take Bradbury with the 23rd overall pick in the draft.
