DT. Alabama. Quinnen Williams. 3. player. 30.

Another team eager to trade out of their current draft slot is the New York Jets, who drafted their franchise quarterback Sam Darnold at the same spot just one year ago. If Murray is still on the board when the third overall pick rolls around, the Jets could be in position to receive a king’s ransom for their pick.

However, could the appeal of Quinnen Williams keep them from trading out and instead selecting possibly the best player in the draft?

With Leonard Williams entering the last year of his rookie deal and no movement has been tracked towards a potential extension, he could be on the trade block or out of New York after the 2019 season. Q. Williams would give the Jets a steady replacement for L. Williams if this is the case, and best case scenario is the possibility of unleashing them both on the field together long-term.

Earning a Heisman vote this season for his performance with Alabama, Williams looks like a top-five lock and, quite frankly, the thought of him making it out of the top three would be absurd. Here, the Jets take him with the third overall pick and add him to their roster built to compete and win right away in 2019.
