The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a new head coach…again. Is the team done adding pieces via free agency as the NFL Draft rapidly approaches?

It’s been more than 10 years now since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers put together a playoff campaign. The season was 2007, the head coach was Jon Gruden and the team captured the NFC South with a 9-7 record. It was a quick exit for Gruden’s team and, in 2009, he was replaced by Raheem Morris.

It’s safe to say that the franchise has gone through its share of sideline leaders since. And after three seasons with Dirk Koetter at the controls, it was time for another change. The Bucs’ newest boss is Bruce Arians.

The two-time NFL Coach of the Year opted for retirement after five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He spent 2018 in the broadcast booth with CBS and he once stated that, if he did return to the league and the sidelines, it would likely be with the Cleveland Browns.

But it was the Buccaneers that came calling and the popular coach takes over a club that finished 5-11 and in the divisional basement each of the past two seasons. And Arians has also enlisted the aid of Todd Bowles, who was his defensive coordinator for a spell in the desert. In 2014, the latter was named the first-ever NFL Assistant Coach of the Year.

The franchise has not been overly busy this offseason but the Bucs have lost their share of talent. With the draft approaching, could general manager Jason Licht have a few other moves to make over the next few months?
