Here are some options for the Oakland Raiders to consider in the 2019 NFL Draft at running back now that Marshawn Lynch is officially out of the picture.

Two years ago, Marshawn Lynch made the decision to come out of retirement and join the Oakland Raiders with the intention of being the missing piece to help the team reach the Super Bowl. Prior to the 2017 season, the Raiders had finally put an end to their overdue playoff drought by finishing with a 12-4 record before coming up short in the Wild Card Round, although the outcome could have been different with a healthy Derek Carr.

Still, just the fact that Oakland finally lived up to the hype for a change as a top contender in the AFC made it seem like they were going to continue being strong contenders moving forward, which is part of the reason why Lynch came out of retirement.

Being from Oakland, Lynch was hoping to provide the necessary spark on offense to help the Raiders win a Super Bowl before the team made the move to Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the Raiders would end up taking a step back over the last two seasons by combining for just 10 wins, meaning all of that excitement surrounding Lynch joining Oakland ended up being a complete waste.

With that being said, as bad as Oakland feels about Lynch being part of a non-contender over the last two seasons, the good news for the Raiders is they will have plenty of great options to consider in the 2019 NFL Draft with all of those draft picks.

So in honor of the 2019 NFL Draft getting underway on Thursday night, let’s take a look at some of those options for Oakland now that Lynch has retired for the second time in three seasons.
