Dallas Cowboys: Final 7-Round 2019 NFL mock draft
By Randy Gurzi
Round 4, Pick 136: Christian Miller, EDGE, Alabama
The Dallas defensive line got quite a boost this offseason when they swung a deal to land Robert Quinn who spent last season with the Miami Dolphins. Quinn comes over on a one-year deal and will start at right defensive end opposite DeMarcus Lawrence. They hope he can work with Randy Gregory as well, but he’s currently suspended by the league.

With or without Gregory, the Cowboys need to add some depth to the edge of their defense. They did use a fourth-round pick on Dorrance Armstrong last season and Tyrone Crawford is capable of playing both end and the three-technique, but there’s no such thing as too many pass rushers — especially when considering Quinn is only under contract for this season.
In an effort to continually bring up young pass rushers, Dallas picks up Alabama’s Christian Miller with this fourth-round compensatory pick. Miller may not have ideal size (6-3, 247 pounds), but he has incredible length (35.125-inch arms) and has adequate burst off the snap.
Miller took a while to get rolling with the Tide as well, as he played in just 14 games his first three seasons before becoming a full-time starter in 2018. He made the most of that final season, recording 11 tackles for a loss and eight sacks. He’s still improving as well, and will only get better the more snaps he gets.
