2019 NFL Mock Draft: Redskins, Patriots trade up in at-the-buzzer projection
Trade! Arizona Cardinals trade No. 33, No. 179, 2020 fourth-round pick to Los Angeles Rams for No. 31
31. Arizona Cardinals: (via Rams): N’Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State
The Arizona Cardinals have the first pick in the second round, but have to think that the Ravens are going to pursue a wide receiver after trading down to the 32nd pick. As such, they look to get their guy for Kyler Murray to throw to in N’Keal Harry. They have to pay a premium by throwing in a 2020 mid-rounder because they’re trading with the Rams in the NFC West, but they get an in-state product that can be great.
Harry might be the most complete wide receiver in the 2019 class. He has size, enough speed and playmaking ability already and, while he’s not an elite athlete or deep threat, he checks every box with above-average skills. He’d be perfect to learn from Larry Fitzgerald in 2019 and then take the reins as the top receiver in the Arizona offense.
32. Baltimore Ravens (via Patriots): Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma
The Baltimore Ravens are now Lamar Jackson‘s team, but the front office — now not led by Ozzie Newsome — needs to get the second-year quarterback someone to throw to. As of right now, Willie Snead would be the Ravens’ top wide receiving threat, which is not a place where any offense would want to be. Adding Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to the mix to end the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft is a great fix for that.
Brown is an absolute burner with top-tier speed to take the top off of defenses. However, the underrated part of Hollywood’s game is the nuance he’s developed as a route-runner, showing much-improved footwork and technique in his breaks. While his size is a concern to some, his ability to be a go-to playmaker makes him an easy choice for the Ravens to end the first round after they trade down.
