10. Pittsburgh Steelers: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

Grade: B

The Pittsburgh Steelers moved up to No. 10 here, sending the 20th and 52nd picks of the 2019 NFL Draft and a 2020 3rd round pick to the Denver Broncos. There were a lot of rumors of the Steelers being in love with Devin Bush throughout the draft process, and they traded up to get their guy at 10.

Bush is an extremely exciting linebacker prospect who moves extremely well in space. He is a legitimate sideline-to-sideline defender who also shows some nice ability in coverage. Bush is an extremely competitive player who will undoubtedly grow into a defensive leader for the Steelers going forward. He also shows some real ability in the blitz game.

Linebacker was a clear need for the Steelers and they did what they had to do to fill that need with one of the only reliable off-ball linebackers in this class. Devin White and Devin Bush were the only off-ball linebackers worth taking in the first round this year and the Steelers aggressively filled their hole.

I do not hate the value of taking Bush at 10. This is right around the range that he should have gone. That being said, the Steelers giving up this extra value is not ideal. Bush is impressive, but he is a raw player who has some work to do in order to reach his actual upside. Interesting move by Pittsburgh here.
