15. Washington Redskins: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

Grade: A

The Washington Redskins entered the 2019 NFL Draft with arguably the worst quarterback situation in the entire league. The devastating leg injury suffered by Alex Smith really hurt this team and put the quarterback position squarely as their number one need. At number 15, they found their franchise signal caller, snagging Dwayne Haskins out of Ohio State.

Besides Kyler Murray, Haskins is my favorite quarterback in this NFL Draft class. He is a true pocket passer who has a well-rounded skill set that should translate well to the next level. Haskins is a smart quarterback who understands how to read defenses. He only started for one season in college, but I was impressed by his ability to progress through his reads and find the open receiver with consistency.

Haskins has good arm strength, consistently showing the ability to make all the throws on the field. His most impressive trait is probably his accuracy as he shows the ability to fit the ball in tight spaces in the short to intermediate range and has good deep accuracy as well.

Haskins does struggle a bit when he gets pressured. His lack of mobility is apparent and he does not currently possess the great presence in the pocket. This must improve in order to reach his upside at the next level, but if the Redskins can consistently protect him, he is going to shine right away.

Whether he starts as a rookie or not, Dwayne Haskins has a bright future ahead of him. Slam dunk selection for Washington.
