2019 NFL Draft: Grades for every first-round pick
18. Minnesota Vikings: Garrett Bradbury, C, NC State
Grade: A
The Minnesota Vikings are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. They entered the 2019 NFL Draft with a strong team who could quickly become legitimate contenders again. That being said, offensive line stands out as an obvious weakness for this team and is one that simply must be addressed going forward.
Minnesota simply sat back and took the best offensive lineman on their board, snagging NC State center Garett Bradbury, who is clearly the top center prospect in this draft.
Bradbury is a fantastic blocker in space who has consistent success as a pull blocker and climbing to the second level. He is quick off of the ball, uses his hands extremely well and consistently keeps proper pad level throughout his blocks. With great overall mobility and athleticism for the position, Bradbury is an ideal fit for the Vikings as they are expected to primarily run an outside zone scheme this season.
His quick feet and hands also show up in pass protection, as he shows the ability to consistently stay in front of interior defenders. Bradbury also shows a solid ability to anchor against the power rush.
This board fell well for the Vikings. Bradbury was the obvious choice, but he was also undoubtedly the right one.
