24. Oakland Raiders: Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama

Grade: B-

Josh Jacobs is a good running prospect who will undoubtedly make an impact at the next level. He is a fluid runner who shows good power at the point of attack and catches the ball extremely well out of the backfield. That being said, for the second time tonight, the Oakland Raiders missed with this pick.

The Raiders have ample needs on both sides of the ball and while taking Ferrell at four helps fill one of those needs, they still have a ton of work to do. With so many holes to fill, I just cannot get too excited about the Raiders taking a first-round running back. The running back position has become so replaceable in recent years and the Raiders likely could have found a capable one later in the draft. Instead, they use the pick they got from the Dallas Cowboys for Amari Cooper to fill that position.

Jacobs is a talented back, but he is not an elite running back prospect who can change the game like a Saquon Barkley or Todd Gurley. However, he will undoubtedly be an important part of their offense going forward.

Oakland is still in rebuild mode and they need to make the most out of these picks. Jacobs is a good player, but there was better value available on the board for the Raiders.
