2019 NFL Draft: Day 2 mock draft after completing first round
By Randy Gurzi
After a long wait, and plenty of mocks, the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft is in the books. Now we offer up another mock as we predict what will happen in Round 2 and 3 as the draft continues
After months of speculation and countless mock drafts, the 2019 NFL Draft finally kicked off on Thursday Night. As is always the case, there were some big trades, unexpected reaches, and players who slid much farther than expected.
It all started out with Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray coming off the board at No. 1 overall. This ended plenty of speculation that the Arizona Cardinals were only feigning interest to try and get someone else to offer them a big package to land the quarterback themselves.
Murray wasn’t the only quarterback to be taken in the top 10, but the second one was a little more surprising. The New York Giants ended up taking Duke’s Daniel Jones at No. 6 even though Dwayne Haskins and Drew Lock were both still on the board. Haskins then slid all the way to No. 15 as the Washington Redskins ended up getting their guy without even having to move from the middle of the first round.
There was also some history set as T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant became the first set of tight ends from the same team to be drafted in the first round as the Iowa products landed with the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos respectively.
Now with all the dust settled on the first round, we look at the second night of the draft and offer up a day two 2019 NFL Mock Draft. And just as they were on Thursday night, the Arizona Cardinals are now on the clock.
